I have been interested in the Civil War since I visited a battlefield as a kid. I never believed in ghosts until my mom had an encounter - and a conversation - with one in her bedroom. Since then, I've opened my mind to their existence and experienced several encounters myself. As a writer, I believe that history and haunts go hand in hand, and began collecting stories of encounters from people in DeKalb County, Alabama. The result was "Hollers From The Hollows", a collection of 17 tales of first-person experiences with the paranormal. Published by The Ardent Writer Press in February 2013, the book has been compared to those penned by Kathryn Tucker Windham. My second work, "A Secessionist Christmas Carol" released by Mirror Publishing, also in February 2013, explores the question of what if South Carolina had stayed loyal to the Union on Christmas Eve of 1860. What if the American Civil War had not been fought? How much different would this country be?
